The finial an acanthus flowering plant, carved in crisp and striking detail. Likely part of the architectural decoration of Tarentine naiskoi (funerary monuments).
Repurposed in the 21st century as a stylish side-table with a round crystal glass top. Diameter of glass top 45 cm.
