Burnt earthenware
Greek, ca. 4th century BC
H. 7.6cm; W. 5.1at earrings cm
A rare and expressive Greek head vase in polychrome with the face of an actor wearing earrings with remains of gilding visible.
Condition: Faultlesst with well preserved polychrome and gilding on earrings. A TL test was negative but considering that, the museum where it was kept was bombed and completely burnt down during WWI explains the lack of reliable data.
Provenance: ex. Collection Louis-Gabriel Bellon, France, (1819 – 1899)
