This amulet in the shape of an erect phallos is most unusual as it is made from glass, with an integrated loop for suspension. Phallic pendants in a variety of materials were believed to ward off bad luck and the evil eye, and are known to have been worn by both soldiers and children in the Roman period.
Condition: Intact.
